Nephroprotective Activities of Ethanol Root Extract and Fractions of Hippocratea africana Against Doxorubicin-Induced Kidney Toxicity

نویسندگان

چکیده

Hippocratea africana root used locally in the treatment of poisoning was investigated to confirm its antidotal potential rats. The extract (200-600 mg/kg) and fractions; dichloromethane (DCM) aqueous, 400 were evaluated for nephroprotective activity against doxorubicin-induced kidney injury Kidney function parameters, oxidative stress markers histology assess protective effect extract. fractions significantly (p<0.05-0.01) reduced levels creatinine, urea electrolytes that elevated by doxorubicin. Also, MDA level doxorubicin co-administration, while GSH, GST, SOD, GPx, CAT decreased (p<0.01) extract/fractions. Histology sections extract/fractions -treated animals showed reductions pathological features compared organotoxic-treated animals. chemical changes consistent with histopathological observations suggesting marked potential. anti-toxic this plant may part be mediated through constituents plant. plant, possesses anti-toxicant properties which can exploited related toxicities.
